SUMMARY:The 19th Korea-Japan Meeting on Neutron Science
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nIn the midst of global technological innovations such as the construction of new neutron facilities\, the international collaborations among the existing facilities have been emphasized.\nThe first meeting was held at KEK Tsukuba Campus in 2000 as the “Japan-Korea Neutron Scattering Research Exchange Meeting”\, and has been held annually since then\, with the hosts changing between Japan and Korea.\nThe face-to-face meeting has been suspended since COVID-19\, but this year the Japanese Society for Neutron Science (JSNS) is hosting the meeting in Japan in order to resume the meeting at the request of Korean Nuclear Society.\nSince the meeting will be held after the restart of JRR-3\, Japanese and Korean researchers will give talks and discuss the latest neutron scattering research in a wide range of fields such as solid state physics\, soft matter\, liquids\, instrument development\, and industrial applications.\nIn addition\, facility reports on J-PARC MLF\, JRR-3\, and the Korean research reactor HANARO will also be presented. \nDate\nSunday\, 13 October 2024\, 9:30 – 19:00 \nVenue\nAYA’S LABORATORY  Quantum Beam Research Center 2F  Conference Room \nRegistration\n\nRegistration Form is now closed.\n\nPayment\nJPY 13\,000 (tax included)\nThis includes the Banquet fee (JPY3\,000). \n\nPayment Site is now closed.\n\nDeadlines for Registration and Payment\n27 September 2024 (JST) \nTimetable\n\n\n\n9:00-\nRegistration\n\n\nOpening\nChair: Yukinobu Kawakita\n\n\n9:30-9:40\nWelcome address from JSNS\nYoshie Otake (RIKEN)\n\n\n9:40-9:50\nWelcome address from KNBUA\nSungyun Park (Pusan Nat’l Univ.)\n\n\n9:50-10:10\nThe history of Korea-Japan meeting\nHideki Seto (KEK)\n\n\nSession 1 – Facility Reports\nChair: Sungyun Park\n\n\n10:10-10:25\nCurrent status of HANARO Neutron Beam Facility\nYoung-Soo Han (KAERI)\n\n\n10:25-10:40\nCurrent status of MLF at J-PARC\nToshiya Otomo (KEK)\n\n\n10:40-10:55\nCurrent status of JRR-3 at JAEA\nKenji Nakajima (JAEA)\n\n\n10:55-11:10\nCoffee Break\n\n\nSession 2 – Hard Matter&Instrumentation\nChair: Takatsugu Masuda and Jae-Ho Chung\n\n\n11:10-11:35\nInelastic neutron scattering of in van der Waals honeycomb magnets\nJae-Ho Chung (Korea Univ)\n\n\n11:35-12:00\nMagnetic order and excitations in quasicrystal approximants\nKazuhiro Nawa (Tohoku Univ)\n\n\n12:00-12:25\nNeutron imaging system using Cyclotron\nMyungkook Moon (KAERI)\n\n\n12:25-12:50\nLocal magnetic structural analysis on frustrated magnets using magnetic pair distribution function\nKatsuaki Kodama (JAEA)\n\n\n \nPhotosession\n\n\n12:50-13:50\nLunch (& Business Meeting @AQBRC or Tokai Bld.
